An iPhone scan is within 5% of ground truth, from sand and gravel to mulch and scrap metal. Using two safety cones increases accuracy to within 1.6%. Accuracy comes from photogrammetry: SR Measure® builds a dense 3D model from images captured as you walk around the pile, then fits a precise surface to compute volume.
Yes. SR Measure® works in indoor stockpile sheds, under tree cover, and in no-fly zones where drones can't go. For piles where lighting or access is challenging, the Estimate sub-type (available on Business plans) lets you measure from photos.
